The Six Types of Affiliate Marketing Systems |
1. The most common affiliate marketing type for advertisers is PAY PER SALE. This is a straightforward process in which the website owner will place banners on their site with a unique tracking ID linking to the advertiser. If the visitor click on that banner and it goes to the website of the advertiser and make a purchase, the tracking ID of the website owner will gain a commission for that sale.
2. In a PAY PER CLICK, commissions will be paid per click that is made on the banner of the advertiser.
3. In a PAY PER LINK, the link on the affiliate website will be installed for a permanent or limited period. This can be obvious links such as blogroll link on the sidebar or footer or it can also be embedded within post.
4. There are also PAY PER PRINT OUT which pays for coupons printed from the owners website. Visitors are usually directed to a site for printable coupons. The mechanism of payment is also similar to pay-per-click.
5. In a PAY PER VIEW, affiliate is paid just for displaying the advertiser’s banner. Once the number of visitors reaches the threshold, then the website owner will be paid.
6. PAY PER LEAD or PAY PER SIGN UP pays the website owner if he is able to lead his visitors to the merchant’s website to complete an action such as creating an account or signing up. This is very popular these days since visitors don’t need to purchase.
